Introduction: Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is characterized by a sudden reduction in blood flow to the heart. There have been significant advances in the diagnostic and treatment strategies for ACS. Objectives: To examine the most recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of Acute Coronary Syndrome. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review. For data collection, the PubMed database was consulted and the descriptors "Acute Coronary Syndrome", "Diagnosis" and "Treatment" were used, combined with the Boolean operator "AND". Conclusion: Coronary computed tomography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, together with biomarkers, allow earlier and more accurate detection of the disease. New antiplatelet and anticoagulant agents, as
well as drug-eluting stents, have improved outcomes and decreased complication rates.
