DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF METABOLIC SYNDROME: STRATEGIES AND RECENT ADVANCES

Introduction: Metabolic syndrome is a set of interrelated conditions that increase the risk of developing cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and other metabolic complications. Objective: To review recent strategies and advances in the diagnosis and treatment of metabolic syndrome. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review. For data collection, the PubMed database was consulted and the descriptors "Metabolic Syndrome", "Diagnosis" and "Treatment" were used, combined with the Boolean operator "AND". Conclusion: Metabolic syndrome is a significant challenge, but it can be effectively managed with early diagnosis and a combination of lifestyle changes and new therapies. Recent advances and monitoring technologies promise to improve the management of the condition and the quality of life of patients.
