Abstract

This narrative review explores the complexity of motherhood during the postpartum period, emphasizing emotional stability and the multiple factors that increase vulnerability to postpartum depression. The study discusses the main screening tools and diagnostic approaches, as well as social determinants that influence the onset of the disorder, with a special focus on the inequalities faced by Black women within the context of structural racism.
